Your Squeeze Page Planning Process
The purpose of your squeeze page is to get details from visitors to whom you can then market a product or service. This might sound like a repeat but what lies behind it is very important.
Everybody does not buy everything, so therefore you can't just build a list and then sell them everything from cat food to internet marketing products. Yes, there might be a few, but only a very few.
The first step in the process is to decide what product or service you are planning to sell.
Especially when starting out it is a good idea to sell something that you know or that you have some good knowledge about. This will give you the edge of being able to get into the mind of the buyer and make your life a lot easier. (I know this from hard experience by selecting products that I had no idea about... and yes, sold nothing)
You can have one of three offers, be an affiliate for someone else, have a resell rights product or have a product of your own. Each of these has their advantages and disadvantages and is explained in more detail here.
Which to choose: Affiliate marketing; resell rights or your own product.
The best way to start in my opinion is with affiliate marketing. There are a gazillion products and vendors out there where you will find what you want. The advantage of starting with an affiliate product is that you will have hard proof of what sells and what does not. You will also see the sales letters and other information from the vendor and once you find a good selling product you can start creating your own.
So now we assume that you have made your choice of product within a niche.
To build the list to sell to you are going to need 3 things.
Sending visitors directly to the sales page defeats the purpose of the exercise as you will not get their details.
One: A landing page where the visitor will land.
Two: A free giveaway like a report which will be of interest to the visitor.
Three: An account where you can collect email addresses and have a auto responder sequence. For this I highly recommend Aweber which is very affordable and has been around forever. (I have been using Aweber for over 5 years now without a problem)
Now that you know what you will need let's look at each part individually.
Finding your affiliate product.
Creating your squeeze page free giveaway.
Creating your landing page.
Your auto responder setup and follow up email sequence.
Driving traffic to your squeeze page.
